New Sticker : eye catch enough…..?

After installing the K42 TopCase, I realize that a lot people seem giving us such an attention. Also that there’s a lot of space on this box for adding such as graphical information. Aha….. what’s a coincidence! We could place any promotional sticker on that case as a free promotion?

My first idea is sticker and I have a lot of idea to create the text, such as :

1. ‘YB2ECG – This vehicle is using APRS system, you could track via www.aprs.fi’ but I realize that I have not installed the APRS system yet on this RedPulse, I just using my Sierra Wireless 3G modem and my Acer 4720 to acces the APRS server without Transceiver+OpenTrack. You could find detail here. Maybe for the next I’ll using this sticker.
2. ‘yb2ecg.web.id Life’s too short for contesting!‘ Aha… this is my first blog I have created since 2004, almost 5 years and stil rolling. So that’s it. I should place this sticker on the box.

Next day, I go to DigiPod Semarang to create the cutting sticker. Added some MixW logo on this design. See the butterfly, it representing the MixW, the ultimate and my favourite software for digital mode on the Amateur Radio, you could find the details here.

So, if you seeing this Pulsar, with the K42 box, entitled with this sticker, you bet, you’ve been seing my lovely Bajaj Pulsar…..and please have a nice to visit my blog….

Top Case Kappa K-42: finally

Is this just a ‘fashion’ follower? No, it isn’t. I believe it’s due to the needs of useful carrier. Don’t judge too much being installed the new Top Case!

You see that Bajaj Pulsar DTSi-200 has no chain to put the helmet. Also it doesn’t have any tools to keep something on the ride.

Suppose that you’ll bring your notebook and sure you’ll neet the adequate backpack [sure I have my Targus back pack] but how can you bring your raincoat, and the booth?

Probably the top case is the best answer.

My first plan is mounting the suitable bracket; and I believe that there’s so many option on the market, but really suitable with the Pulsar? Wait for a minute. I do believe also that something customized among the Pulsar community will be much an advantage. So, I’ve ordered to bro Yudi, the AllienHead, who also made and customize my previous Engine Guard. I ordered the 6 points bracket for Pulsar DTSi-200 and the next day it arrived at my office. Thanks bro for quick response.

The Bracket was so easy install. Just release the original handbar and put the bracket, really plug and play. The 6 points bracket also has an advantage; it can distribute the load to the shock breaker point and on the body.

For the Box, I choose the Top Case Kappa Box type and choose the K42 type; I believe it’s suitable enough, not too small and also not too big for the manuevers.

After googling and searching finally I ordered to the BaikerBoi.net, The box came after three days….a small disappointed I think comparing other ‘online’ ordering. The package sent by the Train [huh.... and I should pick it up by myself due to the three days after the order]. Hey bro… this is not a black campaign… but a valuable input for your customer satisfaction….

Installing Kappa K42 with the Bracket is so easy and fun. Everything is just plug and play. Bro Yudi have made special two hole bit so I can put the Kappa Plate easily. StopLight being paralel with Bajaj Stop Lamp, so nice.

Now, I have no difficulties to take something; I can put the raincoat and sure the AP motoboots and get ready for some wet action.

According some related posting on BIM- Bajaj Indonesia Mailing List – I recomend to join if you own your Bajaj series; Pulsar 180, 200, XCD125 or the others…also if you have the three wheelers….Hi hi… you could join also; from the JMS 2008, there’s some news, about the best motorcycle in this country: Indonesia.

But, no matter that judgement : I stil proud to own my redpulse, hi hi hi…..

Oil prices’s falls; what about us? Trust no one!

I  stil remember what our politician and our top executives have said that our fuel prices is according to international oil market, it rises to our fuel price also rising up, it fall downs? hey wait for a minute! It’s not just a simply like this way? Ha ha…………..

As Rupert Holmes, on In You I trust: I don’t believe the price of gasoline also I don’t trust the politician! And it looks it happens now in our beloved country.

Talking about fuel consumption [something I stil admire for my redpulse performance] after taking the road almost 492 kms on 21 days she’s only take 10 liters for Pertamax [thanks God that Pertamax price downs to Rp. 8.050 and looks down to Rp. 7.000] and with some little math I got her performance 1 ltr for 46.740kms and takes cost [exclude maintainance fee, hey we stil have that guarantee, so absolute free maintenance, and offcourse exclude also leasing fee, ha ha....] Rp. 4.286/day, so cheaper than if I were take a drive, ha ha………

A new gear : get ready for the wet

I believe now we are on the rainy seasons. A lot rain every afternoon and that’s the time we must go home ride the bike. What do you need to get the wet? Some raincoat I believe is a standard, a safety raincoat, in two pieces a like. The shirt covering your body and the trouser to cover your lower side.

What about your shoes? Ehm, maybe you need some shoes cover? But I thinks it’s not practical.

A boots is a considered. A special boots for motoride! Yep, I’ve ordered that boots, from AP Motoboots, made special for the ride on the wet. My order is AP Motoboots Black with the red stripe on the cover, so nicely with my redpulse, don’t you think so?

Boots are made for walking but now, boots are made for motoriding also……..

My first replacement spare parts

Some say that as a new product in Indonesia, comparing for the existing motorcycle in Indonesia, we will be get serious problem for after sales service, such as service & maintenance, and spare part availability.

Due to my little accident, as my previous posting, soon I call the dealer, Bajaj Santosa Abadi at Semarang, ask them do they have left clutch lever on their stocks. Soon they say that already on stocks, and cost about Rp 26.000,- So I make a book and I’ll take it on the way to go home.

But, there’s some meeting til 6.00pm so I ask my wife to take that spare parts. Arriving at my home soon I ask my wife about the spare parts and when I see it I just impressed, it’s packed originally from India with the scratch sticker show the originality. She said also that the dealer get a sympathy and ask about the tank condition, they afraid that my tank also being hurt, but thanks to the Engine Guard. Nice appreciation!

Now my redpulse are refresh with the new replacement. Thanks for nice support!

Side Stand : Be Careful

A little accident just happenned this morning. I was opening my fence and our community portal, the redpulse was parked with her side stand, it’s OK I think because she stands on stable, suddenly my younger son Ilham try to get a hike, and suddenly, gubrakk…… My son scream loudly with a little crying, I forget the redpulse and take away my son. He’s Ok and after some observing he did not get any injured, just a little shocks!

What about her? Some fuel drip from the tank and the worse is my left handle is cracked down. The tank is safe, thanks to the Engine Guard. That’s also Ilham did not hurt due to the Engine Guard.

What’s the lesson here is : always make sure that she stand stable, do not rely on side stand, specially if you own a kid in your family, they tend to try a hike and climb the Pulsar. Always do the centre stand and hope that it’ll be much stable though being climbed by the kids.

I’ll call Bajaj Service do they make a stock for the left handle…. I hope.

The swamp thing?

Last two days Semarang was floody due to the big rain. Everytime we take a ride to go home our street become small river. Welcome to Semarang guys!

For me and my redpulse this is our first experience, is she worthy enough to ride on the floody street? The rain was heavily and I could ride and handle the redpulse easily. Some others were stuck and get engine problem with the flood!

So you wanna see her? Sure it is. I’ll show you now! Completely with engine guard and engine cover. Taking a snapshot with cellular camera phone and the background is covered Honda SM-4, Maestro.  She’s now take a rest and serve only for special purposes: official matter, family matter and long weekend matter. 1:49 very impressive isn’t it?

Yesterday I refueled my Pulsar with Pertamax, now I complete with the various fuel in Semarang. Starting with Premium, Pertamax, Pertamax-Plus and now returned to Pertamax. Now I’ll give you the complete reports.

After taking a the route almost 548 kms, she needs refuel 11 liters for the initial state and after 22 days after the previous refuelling. Pertamax plus costs Rp. 11.000 and now we have to take some calculator or some spreadsheet to measure the performance.

Here’s the mathematical explanation [and I believe that my riding behaviour is same] :

For the fuel consumption I got break my own records :548 kms/11 liters=49.818 km/liters. I don’t believe it! Comparing my previous result 1:38!

For money value : Rp. 121.000/22 days = Rp. 5.500/day, very impressive also comparing my previous saving money with Pertamax : Rp. 6.426/day.

Now, I refueled with Pertamax and I still eager what will be my performance.

For the final conclusion, though Pertamax Plus more costly but it shows that Rp/days is much better. I hope that Pertamax and Pertamax Plus cost will be reduced. Let me see!
